International cooperation

The international association of ankylosing spondylitis (Ankylosing Spondylitis International Federation, ASIF) was established in 1988. This association includes 25 nations and around 48.000 members.

The idea behind ASIF is to:
  • Exchange experiences to create mutual inspiration
  • Ensure the best possible treatment by increasing the awareness about the illness
  • Cooperation about research
  • Assist in establishing new national societies
  • Provide help and assistance to individual patients in countries that do not have national societies.

Cooperation with the Danish Arthritis Society

Through a number of years the Danish Ankylosing Spondylitis Society has cooperated with the Danish Arthritis Society which, in addition, contributes to ankylosing spondylitis financially. Since the Chairman of the Danish Ankylosing Spondylitis Society is a member of the council of the Danish Arthritis Society, this thus provides the opportunity to take an active part in its work.
